magaldrate 400mg, alginic acid 200mg and sodium
bicarbonate 100 mg.

EXTRA TABLETS are available in packs of 20.
BISODOL
EXTRA TABLETS contain three active ingredients:
magaldrate and sodium bicarbonate, which belong to a
group of medicines called antacids and work by
neutralising excess stomach acid, and alginic acid which
is a heartburn relieving ingredient that helps prevent
acid reflux.
What
does the medicine do?
BISODOL
EXTRA TABLETS provide relief from the symptoms of acid
indigestion and heartburn by neutralising excess acid in
the stomach and stopping acid reflux. Reflux occurs when
the stomach juices flow back up into the food pipe
causing pain and discomfort commonly known as heartburn.
This medicine forms a protective layer on top of the
stomach contents which prevents reflux and keeps the
stomach contents away from the lining of the food pipe.
Heartburn
and indigestion may be felt as a burning sensation
across the lower part of the chest, a pain spreading
from the stomach towards the throat or regurgitation of
a sour-tasting liquid. Heartburn may be caused by: over
eating, eating rich or spicy food, smoking, drinking
alcohol or coffee. Heartburn is often brought on by
lying down, bending forward or wearing tight clothing.
During the later stages of pregnancy, heartburn can be
brought on by the baby putting pressure on the mother’s
stomach.
