EFFICO® TONIC

With ‘B’ Vitamins

A fruit flavoured vitamin tonic for loss of vitality after illness, or when feeling tired or run down.

MIXED FRUIT FLAVOUR

What is Effico Tonic for?

Effico Tonic is a vitamin tonic and appetite promoter which helps combat the tiredness and listlessness that can follow a weakening illness or hospitalisation, thus aiding recovery.

What is in Effico Tonic?

Effico Tonic contains two ‘B’ vitamins; Thiamine (B1) and Nicotinamide.

Deficiency of these vitamins can cause fatigue, lethargy and loss of appetite.

Effico Tonic also contains caffeine, which acts as a gentle stimulant to combat tiredness.

Each 5ml oral solution contains:

  • Vitamin B1 (Thiamine Hydrochloride): 0.18mg
  • Nicotinamide: 2.10mg
  • Caffeine: 20.2mg

Effico Tonic also contains Gentian Infusion 0.669% w/v, Sucrose, Ethanol 1.919% w/v, Mixed Fruit Flavour, Ponceau 4R (E124), Quinoline Yellow (E104), Sodium Benzoate (E211), Citric Acid (E330) and Hydrochloric Acid (E507).

It is supplied in bottles containing 300ml or 500ml of tonic.

 

Before taking Effico Tonic

Please read this information carefully. Ask your pharmacist to explain anything that you do not understand.

Effico Tonic contains Ponceau 4R (E124) which may cause allergic reactions. These reactions are more common in people who are allergic to aspirin. If you are allergic to aspirin or any of the ingredients listed, contact your doctor or pharmacist before taking Effico Tonic.

Effico Tonic contains 2g sucrose (sugar) per 5ml dose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor or pharmacist before taking Effico Tonic.

Effico Tonic contains 0.1g ethanol (alcohol) per 5ml dose. If you have been told by your doctor that you should avoid alcohol, contact your doctor or pharmacist before taking Effico Tonic.

Do not take Effico Tonic if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, unless recommended by your doctor.

Using Effico Tonic

Do not use if bottle seal is broken when purchased.

  • Dose:
  • Adults: Two 5ml spoonfuls (10ml).
  • Children over 6 years: Half to one 5ml spoonful (2.5ml – 5ml)

To be taken immediately before meals, three times a day. May be diluted with water if desired. An overdose is unlikely to do any harm but speak to your doctor.

After using Effico Tonic

Effico Tonic is unlikely to cause any side-effects, however if you notice any unusual discomfort you don’t understand, tell your doctor or pharmacist (chemist) as soon as possible.

If symptoms persist consult your doctor.
