Eludril
Mouthwash

The name of
this medicine is Eludril mouthwash.
What is
in this medicine?
The active
ingredients of Eludril mouthwash are:

Chlorhexidine gluconate
BP...........................................0.1%
w/v
-
Chlorobutanol hydrochloride
EP......................................0.5% w/v
This
solution also contains poloxamer, ethanol, sorbitol,
menthol, methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoates, mint
essence and purified water.
Eludril
mouthwash is an oromucosal solution supplied in bottles
of 90, 250 and 500ml.
Eludril
mouthwash is an antibacterial and analgesic solution for
oral use.
What is
this medicine for?
Eludril
mouthwash is an antibacterial and analgesic solution
which inhibits dental plaque formation.
Eludril
mouthwash is indicated as an aid in the treatment and
prevention of gum inflammation along with the
maintenance of oral hygiene, In particular, it is
effective in situations where toothbrushing is
difficult, for instance, following oral surgery, or in
physically or mentally handicapped patients.
This
medicine is a disinfectant for the cleansing of
removable dentures.
Eludril
Mouthwash is also suitable in the management of common
mouth ulcers and oral candidal infections (fungus
infection), and may be used as an adjuvant treatment for
minor infections of the throat.
Before
taking this medicine:
-
Eludril mouthwash should not be used in patients
sensitive to either of the active ingredients. This
medicine is for oral use only. Keep it out of the
eyes, do not swallow.
- One
of the active ingredients of Eludril mouthwash is
incompatible with some agents which are usually
present in conventional dentifrices; therefore, the
solution should be used after usual toothbrushing
and thorough rinsing of the mouth.
- This
medicine is not suitable for use in infants.
Taking
this medicine:
- As a
mouthwash or gargle dilute 10 to 15ml of Eludril
solution in the measuring-cup provided for this
purpose and fill with lukewarm water up to the upper
line and use it 2 or 3 times a day.
- As a
disinfectant for removable dentures, prepare a 1 in
3 dilution of Eludril mouthwash with water. The
dentures previously cleansed should be soaked in the
solution for one hour.
If symptoms
persist consult your doctor or dentist.
If you or
someone else takes a large amount (for example a whole
bottle) of Eludril, tell your doctor or pharmacist or
got to the nearest hospital casualty department
immediately.
Whilst
taking this medicine:
Eludril
mouthwash is well tolerated but if you experience any
unusual symptoms, advise your doctor, dentist or
pharmacist immediately.
Do not take
this medicine after the expiry date which you will find
on the box and on the label of the bottle.
Store away
from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
