Information for Patients

PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.

Active constituent:

SODIUM PYRROLIDONE CARBOXYLATE 2.5% w/w

Other constituents:

Liquid Paraffin BP, Isopropyl Myristate BP, Sodium Lactate, Cetomacrogol Emulsifying Wax BP, Myristyl Myristate, Cetomacrogol 1000 BP, Hydroxybenzoates (Parabens) (E218, E214, E216), Phenoxyethanol, Purified Water BP.

Presentation

A soft white cream which can be easily massaged into the skin. Hydromol Cream is available in tubes of 50g and 100g and a 500g tub with a pump dispenser.

Mode of Action

Hydromol Cream contains naturally occurring hydrating agents. These work in combination with oils to aid the hydration of the skin, relieve itch, lubricate and soften the skin.

Any condition in which dry skin is a feature including all forms of chronic dermatitis /eczema - all degrees of ichthyosis (hereditary dry skin - may also be acquired in old age when as a result of exposure to e.g. low humidity central heating the skin becomes unduly dry).

When you should not use Hydromol Cream and other warnings and precautions

Patents should not use Hydromol Cream if they have previously experienced an allergic reaction such as rash, itching or irritation to any of the constituents.

Hydroxybenzoates may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).

Hydromol Cream is for topical use only.

Avoid contact with the eyes. In the event of accidental contact washing with copious amounts of water should suffice.

Directions

IT IS IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.

Adults and Children

Apply liberally to the affected area and massage well into the skin. May be used as often as required. Hydromol Cream is especially beneficial when used immediately after washing or bathing when the resultant warmth of the skin enhances absorption.

 

If your condition worsens or if irritation, itch or rash occurs discontinue treatment and consult your doctor or pharmacist. In the event of accidental ingestion, adverse effects are unlikely to occur. Any other undesirable effects should be reported to your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not use after expiry date: refer to product labelling.

Store in dry conditions between 5°C and 30°C.
